Prof. Federico L.G. Faroldi, director of CERNAI and Associate Professor of Ethics, Law and AI at the University of Pavia, has signed an open letter addressed to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen.
The letter, promoted by researchers, academics, and civil society representatives, calls on the Commission to make full use of the enforcement powers granted by the AI Act with respect to general-purpose AI models with systemic risk (GPAISR). Other signatories include Yoshua Bengio, Stuart Russell, and several Members of the European Parliament.
